Pediatric device development and evaluation has been recognized as a critical need to improve the lives and welfare of children with congenital and acquired illnesses. The numerous challenges faced by device developers and manufacturers have resulted in a large unmet need for pediatric devices. The Boston Pediatric Device Strategic Partner Challenge seeks to support and advance innovative pediatric medical devices by providing Challenge winners a combination of up to $50,000 in funding per grant award, and/or mentorship and strategic support from Challenge co-hosts the Boston Pediatric Device Consortium and Boston Children’s Innovation & Digital Health Accelerator and leading medical device industry partners. Up to $250,000 will be awarded. Technologies for any medical device that serves the pediatric population are accepted, with a specific interest in five focus areas: cardiovascular/endovascular, asthma, obesity, sepsis and general pediatrics.
Funded in part by the FDA Office of Orphaned Products Development through a grant to the Boston Pediatric Device Consortium.
